In honor of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Commissioner Lowry had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Brian Moran of the Chicago Prostate Cancer Center!

Dr. Moran is a radiation oncologist who specializes in the disease of prostate cancer. Dr. Moran is the current Medical Director at the Chicago Prostate Cancer Center which he helped establish in 1997. As an experienced practitioner of prostate brachytherapy, Dr. Moran has performed thousands of prostate seed implants and has proctored physicians all over the United States and the world including Korea, Europe, and Hong Kong. Dr. Moran has been recognized by the American Brachytherapy Society for his leadership in the advancement in the field of brachytherapy and has been awarded the honor of fellowship status. Dr. Moran is also a member of other specialty societies including the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and the American College of Radiology. His emphasis has been on quality of life issues and long-term outcomes for prostate cancer patients. Commissioner Lowry and Dr. Moran engage in an honest and informative conversation about prostate cancer, overall men’s health, and the importance of early detection.
