We were flying high this morning in Bronzeville!
It was refreshing to see so many students on a Friday morning in the new annex of Wendell Phillips Academy High School for the first annual Youth Aviation Day! Reach Leadership Program for Girls brought together an excellent group of aviation specialists & professionals to share their experiences in the field and teach us about Black Chicago’s history in the skies.
I’m inspired to see the youth of Bronzeville being shown what’s possible. A big thank you for the invite from the Third District’s 2021 Unsung Heroine Award winner, Barbara Ellzey, founder of Reach and the She Flys Aviation Program!
