I have trust in the solidarity of Black County Officials across the country.
Until recently, the National Organization of Black County Officials was planning on hosting its 2023 Annual Economic Development Conference in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Due to recent, prolonged, and sustained attacks by the State of Florida under the explicit and implicit direction of its governor, Ron DeSantis, the NAACP has issued a travel advisory for Florida, which NOBCO has decided to follow for the safety of Black County officials across the country.
NOBCO and this conference has served as an invaluable resource for nationwide collaboration for myself, my colleagues, and countless County officials for nearly 50 years. I have faith that our leadership will put together a fantastic conference later this year, and I have trust in the solidarity of Black County Officials across the country.
